Taiwan Yingge

Yingge is a district in New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is famous for its ceramics and pottery industry. Known as the “Jingdezhen of Taiwan,” it is the hub of ceramics production in Taiwan. The town is home to several hundred pottery plants and an equal number of pottery shops. Its main street, Jianshanpu Road, is the origin of the local ceramics industry and still features an old square coal-fired kiln chimney as its landmark. Today, Yingge continues to thrive as the largest centre for ceramic production in Taiwan, boasting over 800 ceramic-related businesses. This charming district, with its abundance of art studios and shops, offers a unique blend of tradition and creativity.

The district is home to the Yingge Ceramics Museum, which is the first museum in Taiwan dedicated to ceramics. The museum has a collection of over 20,000 pieces of ceramics from different periods and countries. The district is also known for its old streets, where visitors can find many shops selling ceramics and pottery products.
