Yu Hanqing

Yu Hanqing, 1904-1987, was born in Leping, Jiangxi Province. He was a renowned ceramic artist and traditional Chinese painter. In 1959, he was among the first group of artists to be awarded the title of “Ceramic Artist” by the municipal government. He served as an associate professor in the Fine Arts Department of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a committee member of the provincial and municipal literary federation, an advisor to the Jingdezhen Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and an appraiser for the municipal cultural relics management bureau. He dedicated over sixty years to the education and creation of ceramic art, specializing in ceramic fine arts, traditional Chinese painting, and the study of classical poetry. His works have been selected for important domestic and international exhibitions, and many exquisite pieces are treasured by national institutions and collectors worldwide.
